Somatic Therapy in Victoria BC
At Lone Peep Spirit Care, I offer a number of services to help you feel supported during times of stress and transition. Somatic therapy is an effective method of connecting your body and mind. A lot of stories are constructed around your experiences of pain, trauma, numbness and pain. When we involve safe, client-guided touch, it becomes possible to feel your emotions in a new and more healing way than just talking about them.
If you’re looking for somatic therapy in Victoria BC, you can be assured that my approach will offer you an opportunity to feel more alive and present in your body. Using exercises like mirroring, breathing, sounding, shaking, pushing, and holding, we uncover the blockages that are holding you back.
If you're located in the Capital Region, specifically South Vancouver Island or the Gulf Islands, you can receive in-person services at my comfortable private studio.
During our sessions, we will explore the way your nervous system and body are responding to the stress and/or trauma in your life circumstances. With body/mind connecting processes, you’ll find yourself coming to a place of true authenticity and alignment.
The peaceful environment of my private studio in downtown Victoria provides a serene, focused setting for supported inquiry. This is an opportunity for significant personal growth.
Understanding Somatic Therapy
I work with individuals in South Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands, providing personalized, in-person somatic therapy.
Sometimes in talk therapy, we end up telling the stories of our painful experiences over and over again. For some, this may bring about resolution. For many others, however, the narrative approach keeps you stuck in your head.
Somatic therapy is a way of learning to authentically express your feelings instead of just talking about them.
When dealing with repressed anger, for instance, you will be guided to locate the places in your body that are angry. You’ll be encouraged in making movements and sounds that effectively express this emotion.
While the background story of every emotion can be helpful, it actually provides more clarity and aliveness to just feel the emotion itself.
You’ll be surprised at the powerful changes that come from including somatic awareness in your tool kit when dealing with difficult emotions.
The Benefits of Somatic Therapy
Somatic therapy makes you feel more connected with your nervous system. You’ll begin to notice clear signals of each and every feeling in your being. Your body will be supported in clearing and releasing stuck emotions through shaking, moving, sounding and pushing.
Just like an animal needs to shake off every traumatic experience, human beings also need opportunities to unwind and release. It’s important not just to talk about events, but to truly express and clear them. Somatic therapy helps you do this in the presence of a compassionate witness and friend.
How Sessions Work at My Victoria Studio
Our sessions start with an invitation for you to enter the space and connect with your body. I ask you to check into what your nervous system is saying to you. Where do you want to sit down, or would you prefer to stand or move about the room?
Together, we will explore ways to support your nervous system as you process through your feelings.
We will discuss the stories that are holding you back emotionally, then begin to identify areas of tension, stress, blockage and overload. Safe touch can help you breathe into and unwind these points of congestion.
Somatic therapy works well in combination with Earth-based healing methods such as guided meditation, ritual and ceremony. Tarot cards can be added upon request.
Somatic Intuitive Bodywork

Along with receiving a powerfully relaxing massage, you’ll also receive intuitive healing touch and insights as we work through points of tension. We’ll always ask what stories your body is holding and how we can help unwind them.
